Treasure the Land II
Over the past year I have continued to paint and draw landscapes in the Pioneer Valley.
For the most part, these works reflect the the hilltowns near my home. This summer I have been painting in the company of the Amherst Plein Air Society which has taken me a little further afield in the Pioneer Valley.
Considered some of the most beautiful landscapes in New England, the Valley offers constant inspiration for painting.
Painting outdoors brings a freshness and vitality to the work.
Away from distractions, painting in the landscape provides a pointed focus, a practice of undivided attention.
To see things simply is the hardest thing in the world. ~ Charles Hawthorne.
